This tool was built by the Pacific Salmon Foundation (PSF). PSF is a not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to the conservation and restoration of wild Pacific salmon and their natural habitats in British Columbia (BC) and the Yukon.
Since 2009, PSF has worked with First Nations, federal and provincial governments, and independent salmon experts across eight major salmon-bearing Regions to gather, synthesize, and improve access to data on Pacific salmon and their freshwater habitats in BC.
All data and assessment are publicly available for download from PSF's Salmon Data Library, while the full methods are available in PSF's Pacific Salmon Explorer Technical Report via the Methods tab above.
Data acquisition remains an ongoing process, and we encourage you to get in touch if you have additional data or notice errors in the underlying data. The Pacific Salmon Explorer is considered a living tool, with the data and analyses updated on an ongoing basis as new data become available. Please get in touch if you have suggestions for how we can improve the Pacific Salmon Explorer.
The Pacific Salmon Foundation would love to hear from you! We welcome any feedback or questions about the Pacific Salmon Explorer.
